As a business, you may be hard-pressed to create new content with impact on a daily basis. Posting text-only blogs and pages will only take you so far. In fact, images are proven to be more engaging and promote sharing more than text. But understanding what images you can use without risking a lawsuit for copyright infringement is also an important piece of the content-creation puzzle as a commercial enterprise. Fortunately, we’ve created a list of sites that allow commercial use (any business is considered commercial when dealing with licensing work of any kind) for free.

*As a note of caution, the author says they are free to use ‘to the best of [his] knowledge.’ Be sure you double check. Despite the disclaimer, “All photos are at the very least available for personal and non-commercial use (Medium articles, blog posts, personal projects, hero image for your 404 page)” that is not actually true. If one of these images is not within the public domain, you can’t use it without permission, regardless of its use being personal or non-commercial.
Educating yourself with basic understanding of copyright as well as various licensing options available to you as a commercial business will help you in the long run and keep you out of legal trouble. Stop stealing from Facebook users and Google images and start using these previously mentioned sites for better quality images. For more tips and tricks, check out more about marketing on our blog!
