It’s important to blog regularly and frequently, but constantly coming up with new real estate blog topics can be challenging. Next time you need to come up with topics, look to your marketing analytics tools for help. This is a strategy many overlook, but if you regularly check out the data in free analytics programs like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights, you’ll be able to tell what website content and Facebook post topics get the most engagement. When you know what people are searching for on your website and discussing in your company’s social networks, it will be clear what people are interested in. You can then create blog posts to address those topics. Check out the following tips for implementing this strategy.
Do you track your website traffic using Google Analytics? It’s a free tool that provides a lot of valuable information about the performance of your website. You can track traffic volume, traffic sources, bounce rate, conversion rates, and more. Google Analytics will also tell you which web pages receive the most pageviews during a selected time period. Use this feature to determine what pages get the most views, including which past blog posts have received the most views. If you find that a webpage for first-time home buyers receives a lot of traffic, you might want to tailor some blog posts to first-time home buyers. If you find that a past blog post about ideas for staging a home received a lot of views, you might want to publish a new blog post about additional ideas for preparing a home for sale. Here’s how to find out which content on your website has received the most views:
- Log into Google Analytics and visit the left sidebar.
- Scroll down and click on “Behavior”
- Then click “Site Content”
- Then click “All Pages”
This screen will show you the most visited pages of your website for the chosen time period. You will see a search bar at the top of the results. If you have a certain blog post or webpage for which you would like to view performance, type in one distinct word from the title into the search bar and press enter. This will narrow the search results down and make it easier to find the blog post or webpage you are seeking.
Facebook offers business pages a very useful tool called Facebook Insights. Facebook Insights enables companies to track the performance of information they post on Facebook. This analytics tool reports important factors like audience reach, clicks and engagement. If you post your blog posts on Facebook (which you should), Facebook Insights will tell you how well that blog post performed. If the post was popular, you might think about writing blog posts with similar or related topics. Here’s how to find out how your Facebook posts are performing:
- Log into Facebook. Be sure your personal account has admin access to your company’s page. If it doesn’t, ask someone who does have admin access to grant you access.
- Look at the top left corner of the screen. You will see four options to click on: Page, Activity, Insights, and Settings. Click on Insights.
- Look at the top left corner of the new screen. Just under insights, you will see a series of options, including “Posts.” Click “Posts” and scroll down a bit. There, you will see the information on Facebook post performance you are looking for.
