Today, there are a variety of extremely helpful tools available to your company and some of them are even free! Two of our favorites include Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
If you are not currently using Google Analytics to measure your homebuilding company’s website traffic and the success of its pages, you need to be. The platform is free and has the ability to provide you with comprehensive information. One of Google Analytics’ most valuable tools is that it can show you which pages have been most popular within a given time frame, and this includes your blog posts. Take a look at which blog posts have been the most popular amongst potential home buyers within the past week, month, or year and mirror the topics of your future posts after them. There is no reason why you can’t expand on a topic that has proven to be popular with potential home buyers in the past. For example, if you have published a popular blog post titled “5 Common Issues Custom Home Buyers Face from Town Ordinances,” your home building company could easily expand on that theme. You could later devote an entire blog post to each of the 5 common issues, providing more detail and including information on how to avoid those issues. That way, you end up getting 6 blog posts out of one popular topic.
To access Google Analytics’ page information, first login to Analytics. After that, visit the left side bar. Click “behavior,” “site content,” and finally click “All Pages”. Select a time period at the top of the screen for more detailed results.
Like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights is free and can also provide detailed information regarding the success of your home building company’s blog posts. One of the best ways to ensure you are getting the most value from your blog is to post each published article on your Facebook Page. In addition to getting more value out of each post, you will then be able to measure the success of each post via Facebook Insights. You will be able to view a plethora of information regarding each post including reach, clicks, and engagement.
To view post results in Facebook Insights, first make sure you are an “Admin” on the company page. Next, click “Insights.” From there you will be able to see an overview of your recent posts. Click “posts” on the menu under “Insights” for a more detailed look at your past posts’ success.
Look For Patterns
Study which blog posts did the best and try to find out why they were successful. It may be something as simple as the title or the time at which they were posted. Whatever the key factor was, try to repeat that going forward. After a little bit of data analysis, you will know what times your potential home buyers are online and what types of information they like to see.
