Instagram has added another major update to the popular app. Following after the format of Facebook Carousel posts, an Instagram post may now contain up to 10 images per post that a viewer can then swipe through to view. This is a great way to promote your business, allowing you to entice viewers with the opening image and encouraging them to continue to swipe through all the images, increasing awareness and recognition as they spend more time swiping through your image then they would scrolling by a single post.
To use this new feature, open the Instagram app and tap the “+” button to start a new post. You will see a preview area and your camera roll images at the bottom of the screen. Tap the multiple images icon on the far right side in the image preview area, the icon will look like two boxes with one stacked on top of the other.
Once you select that icon, you can then begin choosing your images, they will be numbered so you can easily choose your desired image order.
Once you are happy with the selected images, tap Next to proceed to the next screen which is the filter screen. Here you can select a filter that will be applied to all of the images.
Or tap on an individual image for further editing options of that image alone.
Once you are happy with your edits tap Done on the individual image editing screen or Next on the group editing screen. On the next page you will finalize your post with a caption, tags, additional sharing, etc.
Then tap Share and your post will be live!
Look for the dots under the image that indicates the post contains multiple images, the blue dot indicates your current location among the carousel of images.
