The Paveya Digital Marketing team recently had the pleasure of speaking to the Outer Banks Association of Realtors as a part of their Outer Banks REALTOR® Enrichment Series on the methods and benefits of using social media to increase website traffic and generate more leads. In case you missed the presentation, or are interested in learning more about social media marketing, here is a recap!
(While many of these statistics were generated for real estate companies, the inbound methodology and social media practices apply to just about any company looking to reach out and attract more business online.)
Using Social Media to Drive Website Traffic and Real Estate Leads
More than 90% of home research occurs on the Internet and as 70% or more of internet users are active on social media. It goes without saying that it is important to ANY company to be actively present on social media. Consumers often go to social media websites first for product and service information, so meet your prospects there by developing an attractive social media presence.
The Top 3 Most Effective Social Media Platforms for Real Estate Agents
Facebook, the number one social media platform, is used by more than 71% of all online adults, making it crucial for online marketers in ANY industry to create and maintain an active Facebook profile in order to keep up with the competition.
Sixty-seven percent of business-to-consumer (B2C) companies have reported they have acquired a customer through Facebook. Make the most of this opportunity by attracting the right traffic to your Facebook profile to generate more leads for your company. Your Facebook profile is where you can develop a relationship with potential customers, interacting through your posts and comments.
Consistency with your social media posting to Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest, will help you to remain top of mind with your prospects, bettering your chances of gaining their business when the time comes for them to need your services.
Target your Intended Audience
Use Facebook Ads and detailed content creation to make the most of your time and your online marketing efforts. With the tools available to you in the ads manager section of Facebook you can narrow down the pool of people who are more likely to see your ad by geographical location, interests, and personal demographics to allow you to reach more qualified leads.
By generating unique, original, informative content with your prospective customers in mind and sharing it through your social media platforms you will attract more of the right people to your company’s social pages, thus increasing the chances to get those prospects to follow links through to your website and become leads and eventually customers.
An excellent way to share your original content is through LinkedIn Publisher. LinkedIn, which has more than 350 million members, offers users the opportunity to show off their expertise. By using the Publisher feature, professionals are able to publish directly to their LinkedIn profile to share their articles within their groups and network. These articles remain on your profile, allowing anyone in your network and all who visit your profile to have access to your industry expertise at all times. Include links back to your website in your articles to increase traffic back to your company’s website.
For real estate companies, and for any other industry that benefits from aesthetic pleasantries, Pinterest is an incredibly useful platform to generate awareness of your company. With more than 70 million active users, the image-driven powerhouse that is Pinterest is an ideal place to share attractive, attention-grabbing images with links back to your company’s website.
Be sure to use hashtags to group your images with other related images across Pinterest for maximum exposure. For real estate companies, vacation rental companies, and any other industry that revolves around specific location, be sure to use Pinterest place pins to narrow the scope even further and attract pinners interested in your specific location, providing you with a more qualified lead to nurture.
